Whistler once lived in a cage egg farm, but she was found squashed into a transport crate awaiting her death at a poultry abattoir. She was one of the lucky ones and was rescued.
It was apparent not long after rescue that she had terrible problems breathing. She literally gulped for air every second of her life. Lefty's Place agreed to take her in.
Thinking she would die in the next day or two, the amazing people at Lefty's Place just wanted to give her a safe and comfortable place to die.....but she didn't die.
